I'm not sure if you are seeking general information about your shipping case or specifics about who made it and when. For general information this link will take you to a 1906 Illinois Glass Company catalog where, at the bottom of the page, you will find examples of a variety of cases including those without lids for city delivery and those with lids for long distance shipping. For specific information, if you haven't checked yet, see if your case has any patent numbers or other types of identifying marks that might indicate who made it. I'm guessing your case is an early example and might even go back as early as 1881 when the Standard Bottling & Extract Company was established.

Notice that one model of this particular shipping case was intended to hold "2 Dozen Pints"

Clarification ... Because I'm not certain when "White House Ginger Ale" was first introduced, the 1881 date I mentioned could be misleading for the age of the shipping case.
