Hey guys,
Haven't posted in a while... Been pretty busy with work and quite honestly, I don't dig a lot of bottles though I LOVE when I do. I am more of a relic hunter... I get the occasional bottle every now and again while digging Civil War relics. I am making this post seeking assistance from any one in the area willing to help. There is a old house that a buddy and i hunt near Fort Washington Maryland that was built around 1837. We have found quite a few good relics there dating from early large cents to civil war stuff to turn of the century Indian heads and such. Even all the way up to a couple Mercury dimes lol. We do not know the first thing about locating or digging a privy but we know there has to be one for this house! What we are wondering is if there is anyone in the area who would like to come teach a couple of newbies the ropes (and of course have fun digging what should hopefully be a good early pit!) I'd gladly recipricate if you wanted to try your hand at metal detecting sometime (and of course whatever bottles you pick from the pit). Thanks for reading my post and considering helping out. I will leave you with the last bottle I found out of a civil war pit about a month ago... I'm sure it's not much to some of you guys but it sure tickled me! Btw, is this bottle a bitters you think? Or just a utility?
