Yard Sale Finds

I saw yard sale on my way to work a couple days ago but I did not have time to stop. After work, the sale was still going so I decided to stop since it was on my way home. I immediately gravitated to a table that was filled with bottles for $1 each and could not even believe what was sitting there so late in the day. This blob top from Sandusky, Ohio in near perfect condition for just $1.

The rest of the dollar bottle selection were nothing special except for these two ACLs. Even though most of the red paint is gone on both of these I was happy to add them to my collection until an upgrade comes along. I have seen quite a few of the Set Up bottles from Detroit, MI but this one is the first I have seen that is marked Toledo, Ohio. It is great shape other than about half of the red paint missing. The other bottle is Chex from Cleveland, Ohio and was made by Cotton Club. I really would like to find one in nice condition but this one will do as a filler for now.

Here is the back of the two ACL bottles. Both of these drinks were marketed as hangover cures and have some fun slogans on the back...

Set Up says: Great on the morning after the night before

Chex says: A pick up drink that Chex that morning after feeling
