Picked this up at a yard sale next door to me...she had it priced at $10...I got it for $8 and I also gave her a set of tea pots in the shape of cats I've had forever...she said she collected cats and tea sets....I figured she'd love those and since I had them in a box I figured why not give them to some one who would enjoy them....She said they were going right up front in her curio cabinet.....
She also gave me a tea set i believe was hand made...
It was nice to finally meet some of my new neighbors...turns out the ladies husband used to work with my dad about 23 years ago...what a small world we live in. All the more my other neighbor on the other side I worked with at Big Boy when I was 16 ...

Anyways on to the goods......

Is there any reason anyone could think of as to why the handle would be clear and not like the rest of the glass?

Makes a nice addition to the collection....The ladies called it Depression glass...What does that mean?

depression glass was glassware that was mass produced during the great depression and sold at lower prices. they are known to have some more unusual and vibrant colours i.e. the uranium green

if your pitcher has a pontil it would not fall under the category of depression glass because it would have been made waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy before the depression. nice pitcher love the colour.

Much of the so-called Depression glassware is pontiled.

All 3 of my pitchers there have pontil marks.....I have no idea on how old they are but I do know I love them!! Great colors and I like the crackled look in the yellow and green....the purple is by far my favorite tho :)
