yuengling bros beer

hey does anyone know anything about yuengling bros beer , when did it come out cause i have a really old bottle but i dont know the exact age but it has a 27 embosed on the bottom and its bottled in pottsville PA

some of the blobs go for a lot of money but Ive seen quite a few Yueng bros on ebay for about 20 bucks i think. Yes Pa beer kicks

I am sooooo glad someone finally brought up Yuengling on this forum. About half of my digging is done in Pottsville although I live like two hours from there. They were established in 1829 and there first bottle was an unmarked pontiled wine bottle which I have dug pieces of. Here is a pic of some of their older bottles which I have dug there. Two aqua ponys and an amber ladies leg squat marked DGY&S on the base. Although mine is a mold blown crown top, I have dug the amber blob but I didn’t get it on the pick.

Madpaddla, Yuengling made a lot of different varieties of bottles throughout the years. The ones I pictured above are some of their oldest but they also made tall blobs, mold blown scroll beers and lots of different machine made ones. Also milk bottles…. that’s right, milk bottles. During prohibition, the way they survived was through selling milk in bottles. I have a picture of one below. If they hadn’t sold milk, they may not have been Americas oldest brewery. The pony blobs run for like $50 on ebay and the tall blobs go for a little bit more. The Yuengling milks go for around $30 or so but you can pick up the machine made ones for a few dollars. If I ever dig a third Yuengling pony I would defiantly sell or trade it to you.

Hey Ben. Yeah I have tryed it. It just doesent have that JD bite to it. It's ok for darkish beer.
