the cap is rusted and falling apart. but I can't figure it out I checked all my books. maybe some of you can.

Hi,

Nope, that one is much later. If I had to guess I'd say as late as the 1960s. The 1895 is probably not meant to indicate a date but rather a mold number or something like that. One thing I've learned bottle diving is that that ripply effect on the bottom always means "new". I can tell the non-keepers even in pitch blackness that way.

Not that yours isn't a keeper if you like it, that's what this is all about after all.
