I bought another George W Hoxsie bottle through that famous west coast auction site last week. I didn't know this variant existed before the auction. It dates from the 1860's. I know there are a couple bottles from this fellow that say Premium Beer and have also figured out by way of fultonhistory.com and ancestry.com that George was not a brewer of a malted barley beverage but a flavored soda water manufacturer. I have been on the look out for one of the premium beer bottles at a price I can afford but am now also looking for pottery or glass bottles with Hoxsie or GWH or something I can recognize from Kinderhook, NY. He had a shop there before moving to Albany. He sold his business in 1867 but the name Hoxsie lived on for a while. I have not as yet found a description of the flavor, but the search goes on.
