Henry C. Lazenby, moved to Waco circa 1866. A Confederate veteran. His son,
Robert Sherman Lazenby, produced Circle-A ginger ale in Waco in 1884. The softdrink was regulation in the Army and Navy during the Spanish-American War.
Robert Sherman Lazenby established the Dr Pepper Company.
Some good bottle info: Artesian was from Waco and owned by Robert Lazenby and W. B. Morrison, and became the Dr Pepper Co. and Artesia was owned by Lazenby's brother, Henry Clay Lazenby and was in Ft Worth and later became the Dr Pepper Co.
Before you guys get all into it, there was an ad in the Waco paper that said Artesia Bottling Co, but that was a misprint.
