can someone tell me what this was used for and about how old it is,there is a small circle on the bottle with writing in it (INLAND XXX PATENT NO. DES 160,186 12 CUP HAND BLOWN) THANKS

hi gracie; i think it is aserving canistr,from the 1920s,with a handal like that,it may be for a hot beverg ,thoue thate type fo glass,doesn,t look like it wood dowell with heet.it just may be the deco,styling
