Hi folks! I recently came into possession of 2 bottles. The shorter one has very dark brown glass, has a seam up to the neck, then what looks to me like an applied top. It is 5 inches tall and approximately 2.75 inches wide. The other bottle is 10 inches high, approximately 3.5 inches wide. Appears to be a turn/paste mold bottle as there is no seam and has a deep pontil base. It is very dark brown glass also.
So, I'd be interested in whatever insight you folks have, and thanks!

The long neck one may have been some sort of alcohol such as brandy or whiskey. It appears to be black glass which is 1890s and prior.

That shorter one though is a mystery to me. It kind of reminds me of a pork pie inkwell. May have been a med? I'm stumped. Does it have a mold seam?

There's something about that smaller one which looks very familiar to me, but I can't remember why. It seems a bit tall to be an inkwell, but does remind me of travel inkwells which would have sat inside a wood or leather case. It does look like it may have fit inside something. Something about it makes me think it was meant to be reused, rather than a bottle sold with contents.

That liquor bottle has some incredible wear to the bottom; it must have been used many times over to show that amount.

Yes, it runs from the bottom edge, to almost the top, stopping about 1/4 in from the top. Held up to the light, both bottles are dark brown as in a beer bottle but darker.
