Hi, hope someone out there can give some help with info on this bottle. The bottle says ISCHIROGENO O. BATTISTA FARMACIA INGLESE DEL CERVO NAPOLI it stands a little under 7" has one flaw a crecent shaped crack at the lip with no loss of glass. It also has an animal like a horse on it. Thanks for any help

It is Italian and what it says is that this guy Ischirogeno O. Battista has a pharmacy called English Pharmacy of the Deer in Naples, Italy. That is why it has a deer embossed on the front. He sold English meds which for a time were thought to be top notch compaired to meds from anywhere else. pharmacy of the Deer and English Pharmacy were both fairly common pharmacy names in Italy from 1800 to about 1880.

Spanish and Italian are both based on latin so it is an easy mistake to make but it is definatly Italian.

Don't know what it is worth but it is not in Napels anymore and it is a cool bottle.[:)]
