Last year I went looking for dumps in the village I just moved to, found a dump, but it was on surface limestone and very shallow.
Still, dug a bit but mosty it was broken, it was pretty disappointing.
So this year I went back and searched the landscape and found the main dump, its still on limestone but much deeper, 6' to 8'.
And because its so shallow they had a Scorched Earth policy, lots of ash and shards, but as I got deeper it started to pay off, I also think this dump wasn;t dug before, just surface scratchings.
