HI folks,

I'm no bottle collector, but I found a bottle today out in the woods while helping a friend track a deer. I live in the Texas hill country, NW of San Antonio.

I looked at a catalogue of makers marks and did not find the one on this bottle in the catalogue. I have not removed the cap for fear of breaking the glass. It is rusted on pretty tight. There is a hole in the cap and I was unable to get it very clean with just water. I figured I would try vinegar to clean it out.

The bottle is 3-1/8" tall, 2-3/8" wide, and 1-3/8" front to back. It appears to have been made after 1900 judging by seams up both sides at least to where the threads begin. There are subtle, wavy striations that look like extrusion marks.

The makers mark looks like it could be an H, an M, or a W, possibly none of the above. Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated. I'm curious about what was in it and how old it might be! I put the Lifesaver in there for size comparison.

Thanks!
Randy
