Picked this up at a local auction. I paid for it but I know its a rare variant. Cant find auction record for this style. Iron pontiled beauty and very close to mint. Super shape for a soda. Any ideas? I find a vague reference to this bottle as being made for a year only but no more info. Any info appreciated. Johnny M.

Most of the ones I see are the 6 or 8 or 12 sided/paneled ones. LEON.

Yes. That's all I seem to find for the same name. It's interesting that there was one like this on Ebay recently with no bids but that one was a medium teal color, smooth based and wailed on with a huge chipped top so bad it almost decapitated the bottle, a huge base chip and overall haze and case and ground wear it appeared. Opening bid had to be about 89 dollars or something . A weird minimum and nobody bid.Of course condition was terrible .No offense to the lister. I've seen worse. Only other one I ever found a pic of. Seems this is always a sided cobalt bottle. I hope an experienced soda guy can give me more detailed info. I already know it's a super rare style because there are none after tons of Google searches and auction reports and even though it's just a green porter type, I played hardball at this little auction because it is certainly a top specimen of this odd variant. I dont know much about Northern sodas, but i do know this bottle came cobalt, green, and aqua. Cobalt being the usual color. The green is rare and aqua is very rare. I have no clue on current value tho.

Thanks. That's something I've learned anyway. To Clarify :This exact style came in cobalt , green and aqua or the bottler embossed on here on other forms? I've seen the most common sided ones in those colors but can't find jack on this little porter form. Johnny M.

15 different Knickerbockers in GWA's auction closing Monday night, but not a one like yours. Beautiful soda.

Thanks. Yeah, when I saw it in that estate auction I scrambled to find any sales record of that variant and found nothing. It was in great condition so I just nabbed it as an investment grade example.I paid for it because another guy saw it but to me it's rare as heck so the bottle is better than the pocket money and I kept hitting it until he bailed. I collect pickles but I will chase down great bottles that I spy in sales in the shadows as their sales may ultimately fund a mega pickle . Sometimes I keep rare stuff for a while but ultimately I try to offer it in the proper venue so collectors of that type have the opportunity to acquire it. Johnny M.
