Went up to my sisters camp near the St Lawrence couple days ago, found a small dump, most things broken, did find an orange crush bottle. Not familiar with the base embossing, hoping someone here might know. Camera's cord is on the blink so I dont have a picture as yet. Has the diamond on one side embossed PATENTED ORANGE CRUSH BOTTLE 6 FL. OZS. and the base is embossed N.I.C. & B WKS. INC.

Thanyou for any info,

Al

Hey Al, I found a similar bottle recently. I assume this in a clear "krinkly" Orange Crush bottle. Most of the krinkly clear Crush bottles have a date below the PATENTED (most commonly July 20, 1920 or Aug 22, 1921). I emailed the creator of this website http://www.angelfire.com/yt/soda/Rosman-OC-clear.html to find out more about my bottle. He told me that the PAT'D and PATENTED without date were the very first version of the classic, clear krinkly 6oz. bottle which began about 1926 and continued into the 1940's. Apparently this variation is uncommon to rare, value $25-$50.

Hey Dan thanks for the info, thats a great link for these bottles! That picture of yours sure looks like a beauty. I've had several different versions of these OC sodas over the years, one embossed Ward's but the others were later varieties. I still haven't determined what the base embossing stands for on this one. It was manufactured in Rochester, has REED on the heel, so I'm assuming the "N I C (could be a G) & B Wks Inc" on base is for the bottler.

Thanks again for the reply,

Al
