Tried a section of river I hadn't seen before. After 31/2 hours of searching I hit pay dirt, as these finds ( save the anchor ) were in relatively close proximity. Despite a bit of river rash, most were in great condition, though the black bottle has some top / neck damage.. This river saw steamer traffic starting in the 1830's, so I'm always hopeful of saving some history when I dive it's waters. The anchor I found :40 minutes into dive #1 and had to return it to my entry point, as it was too cumbersome to search with. By the shape it's in, I suspect it's pretty old.

Hey K, very good for this particular river; it'll get quite soupy as the water heats up over the course of the summer, so now's the time to get in!

Hello, RCO - yes indeed, never seen an anchor quite like this one - here she is with a coat of light oil after her initial treatment via the wire wheel...

I love the Montreal round-bottom! That's one of the ones I've always wanted to find.
Hey CB, that’s my 2nd! Keep looking; the contents must have been popular, as I know a lot of collectors have one.

Wow, the anchor cleaned really well! Congratulations
Hey K, thanks for that. She was a bit crunmbly in some areas, but overall she’s in pretty good shape for the age of her. Can’t wait to see the Missuss’s face when I mount it on the living room wall!
