I picked up this OP Burdsall's Arnica Liniment at flea market yesterday and the mouth has a wedge in it like a pour spout. At first I thought it was a chip but it is uniformly notched and smooth so thinking it may have been[attachment=MVC-044L.JPG] [attachment=MVC-045L.JPG]...
Anyone got any thoughts on this jar lid. Closest thing I could find in RB was Wilcox jar but it does not have the rays. The ID is 2.5". Has indentation in center of arch which I assume is for wire bale. Thanks.

Here is a picture of the pontil scar, I could only load three on first go around . Thanks for the website links Jim. The one in the home page picture does look very similar to this. This type of bottle is really not my cup of tea but I was intrigued by it and thought it was very old, so I...
I purchased part of bottle collection today from a long time digger that recently passed away. This bottle was in his collection . It is an open pontil with very crudely tooled top, it stands about six inches tall. It has a snake figure wound around it from the top of the shoulder up to the...
Hello Red, I go through Burdett quite often. My Son and Family live in Ithaca and I always take the back roads when traveling there. Good for finding yard sales and many antique stores along the way. Years ago I use to get a few good bottles in Watkins and Montour Falls, not so much any more. I...
[attachment=MVC-022L.JPG] Anybody have any idea what this little bottle may have contained or what it's use was? It has indents in center on all four corners that could have been used for fastening to something. About 2.5" tall with shear top embossing reads Strowger Co. Rochester, NY. Only...

Anybody got any idea about this tin sign? Measures about 6" X 5". Appears to have slots at bottom like a belt buckle has, could be it was affixed to a pole. I don't know what acronym ASZ is for sure, could be " Air safety zone ".
Thanks for the reply. I understand about town changing names. I have bottles from Suspension Bridge NY which is defunct now and part of the City of Niagara Falls, also the Village of Farmer Market or Farmer, NY which is Interlaken today. In the case of those two you can find history through web...
Picked this aqua blob top at the flea market today. Inside slug plate embossed with F.D ALFORD BORDENCITY N.Y. I'm from New York state and I've never heard of Bordencity nor could I find any reference on google or bing searches. I think it may be NYC or Long Island area but I'm not sure. Anybody...
I do believe this is from Baltimore, Md. Found several records of bottles from this dairy but not a pyro with war bond ad like this. War ad milk bottles are a good thing as they are a catagory of collecting in itself.
