I purchased part of bottle collection today from a long time digger that recently passed away. This bottle was in his collection . It is an open pontil with very crudely tooled top, it stands about six inches tall. It has a snake figure wound around it from the top of the shoulder up to the lower portion of neck. Really nice color, sort of bluish aqua marine color, definitely not plain aqua. I do know that just because it is open pontil does not guarantee that it is old but I think it is very old. All the other bottles I purchase from this collection were 1880's -1900's BIM's. This was the only O.P. Searching the net I found a 19th century O.P. English decanter with snake applied in same manner but bottle shape was not the same. Anyone have any ideas? I don't post much on this site but I read it about every day. I made donation today but it doesn't show on profile. Love the site?
