I have found many 1920's Cheerwine being in NC. I found one today that was in the same style but it included the word "ALES" under the word Cheerwine. It was bottled in Charlotte and not Salisbury like most I've found. Has anyone else seen this type of Cheerwine before?

Just an update, I'm in conversation with a local college science department and there is general concern over the innoculation vials. This didn't really suprise me. I will let you know if we figure it out.
The other bottles, we believe is either homemade wine or medicine from the pharmacy...
Ron,
I'm putting some of the evidence together suggesting that this basement may have been a place for moonshine. I'm in the right area of the country and it was hidden in a dug out place in a crawl space. Unfortunately the medicine is a slick so it's a no go there. The vinegar was between...
Recently I have found a few bottles (medicine, vinegar?, serum) which still have some form of contents. Is there a way to get these contents tested to see what they are relatively cheap? The two serums I dug up still have a bit of yellowish liquid in them. A half-gallon turn bottle and a...
I was fortunate to crawl under a 120+ year old building today and I found a perfect one of these. The crawl space was very tiny for a 6'2 220lbs man so it was well worth the effort.
fyi,
mine has the Illinois Glass Company marking on the bottom. Were the bottles made in America and shipped to Cuba for bottling? That puts mine between 1926-1929 if this is true.
I'll post a picture later.
Here's a bit of background on the site I'm at. In the 1920's The Charlotte Hotel was built in Charlotte, NC. This hotel was a staple for the city and eventually was placed on the National Registry. Even with that, the city got permission to implode the holet and...
epackage ~ sorry mispoke (half awake when I typed that), the newest bottle I have ever found there dated between 1906-07. Myself and a couple of other individuals have pulled out bottles from the mid-1800's. This part of Charlotte was known as "Old Town" and had a bunch of old dwellings...
Well I haven't gotten a bottle out of this one area for months and decided to give it another go. I found that the rain had broken the ground up and collapsed some areas. After clearing an area I started finding broken glass and then jackpot! This amber Hires is BIM and has some very nice...
Just an old style "14" as seen in most early machine made bottle. The seem is also well defined which has me believing that this was a very early machine made jar, possibly 19teens-20's. I did locate a Shearin Cycle & Supply Company in Atlanta during 1921-22. I do not have any idea if it's...
Guess I have no one who has a clue on this jar? I can say that this jar dates pre-1940 and most likely is pre-30's as the elaborite desing suggests roaring 20's. Here's a couple of pictures. Any information will be appreciated.
Size check.
Thanks
John
