I use just 000 steel wool on the end of a plastic coat hanger to clean the inside of my bottles, I break the coat hanger at the elbows to give myself a little "hook" to catch the steel wool with, and use a little water for lube, it works pretty well and is the best method I have found yet short...
Check under the cleaning and repairing forum for some good cleaning tips, I have the best luck with 000 steel wool on the end of a plastic coat hanger and polish out the stubborn deposits, 000 steel wool doesnt scracth the glass, have also had and heard of good luck with barkeepers firiend. good...
Hey Ron, I've seen a couple of them sell on E-bay from a person in Britain.. They looked a lot like your bottle, but actually a little more clear. The shapes were identicle to yours with the same style neck and impressions around the top. Is this one up for sale somewhere, or is it one of...
Thanks Brian, I saw a your posts, and yes there is apparently a ton of different acls out there! Since I posted this bottle, I've seen a couple other truades on e-bay along with the hire's bottle and none seem to be commanding very high dollar, but at least I know I didn't over-pay either[;)]...

Any one ever seen a TruAde? It's local to my area Got a square with a "G" in it on the bottom along with 1257. First one I've seen (which doesn't mean too much[;)]). I got it for $4, along with the Hire's. I got no clue about acl's but I thought they'd be cool for my boy's to display. I got...

My cousin is severely affected by poison ivy... We cut wood for my grandparents and if he picks up a piece a year later from the pile that had contacted poison ivy during cutting, he gets it. I think he could catch it just fom looking at the stuff, I myself never get more than a few bumps on my...

BTW where did it come from?
Alick, Nice bottles! Great pics must be cool to find some goodies right in your own backyard! I'll bet given the age of your house there's probably even more older stuff kicking around yet! Although I tried digging up my yard last year and my wife threatened me with some pretty severe...
So is B.K.F. kind of like a comet cleanser? It will polish out burns too? Sweet I'm gonna have to get some and give it a whirl, I've got a lot of burn victims that just really weren't worth all of the time and effort of a 000 steel wool polish.
Thanks guys!

Cisterns were used to catch rainwater, I actually have one in my basement.. They used to run the rain gutters into it so instead of going out to the old hand pump well you could get it from the cistern inside. The out-door cisterns I would geuss were the same purpose. Of course don't confuse...
000 steel wool and a whole lot of elbow grease. Otherwise see if you can find someone to tumble it for you.. Theres e few forum members here who do tumbling, I'm sure one of them will probably post and let you know if that will do the trick.
