Looking to dig 1800's Dump in Iowa/Northern Missouri

Hi Cannibal, Wow! Digging up a 1850's privy would be nice!!! That my friend is what I want to dig! Nothing against what I have now, but I really am craving older stuff. Wow! It has been a while since I have been on! Sorry for the delay! I will make a better effort to get on more often! I am still out here, looking for a good digging partner! I have gone back to an old 1880-1900's dump this past summer. I haven't dug there for almost 20 yrs, but still left there...- RHach

Sounds good! I can't wait until the 70's and 80's degree weather is back! I have an 1890's-1910 dump that I dig at alot, as well as some other sites I have found. I have never privy dug before, but these new sites are back to the late 1830's, so I feel that I could for the first time be tapping...- RHach

Sounds great! Sorry for the late reply. My dad passed away and I haven't got the chance to check this earlier.... Anyway I have a 1900-1910 dump I have been digging at since I was a kid, and have found some much older sites to dig at. I am putting together a dig once it warms up. I might go down...- RHach

Been dump digging, now how do you find the privy?
I went out to the old 1890-1910 dump site today. Lots of snow on the ground, but you can see the debris poking through. I did find a bottle, "Winstead's Lax-Fos". I dug here alot when I was a kid. The area is wooded, but covers a large area, so there is lots of digging left. I also shot some...- RHach

I did some driving around close to my home in Eastern Iowa today. I went out to that 1890-1910 dump site. There is lots of snow on the ground, but you can see the old porcelain pots and kettles poking through the snow. Under the fallen trees you can see bottles and debris shaded from the snow.
