OK, I know this is probably fairly recently made and therefore not very interesting to collectors, but I think it's kind of cool, in a sort of weird way. I found this in the basement of my new farm. The bottom has no real markings as seen in the picture. The detail on the dog's head is quite...
This bottle is an interesting one - hope I'm right that it's pre-1900 but I could be wrong.
It is extremely dark glass. Dark olive greenish brown really, but the thing is, I can't even see through the bottle at the bottom - that's how dark it is! (see pic 4, note how you can see through the...
OK, here's another bottle I've been working on cleaning. Sorry for the gunk in it in the pictures. Nasty stuff in there that I can't get out!
This bottle is sorta pale greenish colour and 12 inches high. It has no seams on it that I can find.
There is a huge bubble in the neck that swirls a...
I think this might be pre-1900 but forgive me if I am wrong and I will repost in the other section.
This bottle is a lovely dark green colour. There are lots of bubbles in the glass and the surface is uneven in areas (see photo 2).
The bottle is 4 sided and has a sort of textured area on the...
Another bottle I found today - nearly 8 inches tall. Rectangular shape.
Front says "C. Gates & Co." and one side says "Invigorating" and the other side ways "Syrup."
Bottom just has a 12 on it.
Anybody know anything about that manufacturer or the "invigorating syrup"??
There was some...
Found a neat bottle from Oxford, Nova Scotia today.
It says "Druggist, A. S. Mackintosh, Oxford, NS" on it.
Above that it says 3 VI on the bottle, just under the neck.
The bottom has a diamond shape with the words "Canuck Oval" in it, and around the sides I think it says B.F.G. Co.
6 3/4...
Today I found a bottle that says embossed on it "Fairchild Bros & Foster, Diastasic, Essence of Pancreas." [:'(]
That sounds like just about the yukkiest thing ever! I guess maybe it was for treating diabetes?
There is a small A on the bottom.
7 inches tall.
Anyone else have "essence of...
I am guessing this might be the oldest of the 3 bottles I am posting today, but I am basing that solely on the condition of the glass, which is more etched looking than the other 2. This bottle is 11 inches tall but seems heavy for its size compared to the others.
No seams on the bottom...
Bottle #2 today is just about 12 inches tall. No side seams.
The only notable thing is the top part of the bottle, which is totally messy in its application! The glass looks kind of wrinkled and there is sort of goopy glass where the top appears to have been applied to the rest of the...
I cleaned some more bottles. Today I will list 3 larger bottles than the last ones I did. I am assuming they are after 1900 but please correct me if I am wrong!
#1 bottle is just over 13.5 inches tall, and has a lovely shape with a swirly neck, but the neck is not symmetrical. There are no...
Here is a brown bottle I found that I really like. It has an interesting shape. I like the squared ridge on the shoulders of it.
It has a seam that stops before the lip, as shown in the picture. The seam is from corner to corner, not up the centre of the sides.
On the bottom, it says U D...
This bottle is cute and small. As you can see on the side, it says "Contents 2. Fl. oz." and the bottom doesn't have any marks on it.
The seam goes over the lip. It is 4 inches tall. Does anyone else have one like this or know what the contents would have been?

I cleaned some more bottles and took some more pictures. [:)]
First one says "Marsh's Nips" on it, which I Googled but didn't find anything. I like the style of the writing.
You can see from the pics that it's just over 5 inches tall and the seam goes over the lip.
The bottom has a...
Here is the second tiny bottle found on my farm (see previous post for the first one!)
This one is 4.5 inches tall, 1 5/8 inches wide, and only 5/8 inches deep. As you can see from the pics, the bottom (inside) of the bottle is narrow compared to the top. There is an interesting dimple on...
Hello all! This is my first post! [:)] Please be gentle with me!
I recently purchased a farm in Nova Scotia which was originally built in the 1850s. Since then, the farm has grown over time and became a blueberry winery. I have been going through the old barns and I found a bunch of...
