Essence of Pancreas! (ewwwww)

Today I found a bottle that says embossed on it "Fairchild Bros & Foster, Diastasic, Essence of Pancreas." [:'(]
That sounds like just about the yukkiest thing ever! I guess maybe it was for treating diabetes?
There is a small A on the bottom.
7 inches tall.

Anyone else have "essence of pancreas" bottles?

I've seen them but I don't have one Claire. Look for other fine preparations.

Cool! It's maybe older than I thought then! I still am not sure that I would want to sample it, but I sure like the bottle.
Fascinating to read about all their digestive products, although I seem to have lost my appetite....
