Saw some nice insulators up on a pole today. Two different brands, but funnily they both have the same model number: #42.
The ones with drip points are Hemingrays, the others are Dominions
Closeup of one of the Dominions. Good thing I had my 300mm zoom with me!
Indeed!
There were some much older, embossed meds but I fell in love with the label of this one.
The label adds some history to the bottle IMO. The label reads "A teaspoonful every three hours" and someone noted on the side "Grippe", which is the French word for flu. I imagine that the...
Found a nice little med today in an antique store in Sherbrooke, Qc.
The back is embossed with ounce and cc markings, and on the front is a very nice label with the handwritten prescription. It's an AMB with a succion mark on the base. Base markings: /O 4
There were more of those, most were...
Found this nice Kist at a flea market today for 7$. The red on the ACL is a bit faded, but it's otherwise in good condition. I really like the diamond pattern on this bottle. Haven't cleaned it yet, I want to be sure how to do it without damaging the ACL.
Thanks for the answer! It's older than I thought, I was thinking 1930's or so. Glass insulators are really attractive indeed! Now I have something more on my list of things to look for in flea markets and antique stores.
Wow, it's been a loooooooooong time since I've been on this forum. Fountain pens and photography had taken over as my main hobbies, but I'm back, and with my first insulator! It's a Hemingray #16 in Hemingray blue glass (looove the color!). It's in good condition, just a few tiny chips and three...
i just went to buy the bottles. the big one is exactly the one we were talking about. for an ABM, it's really crude. the mold seams are very apparent, and there's something like a succion mark on the base. the inside have a milky deposit, but i think it'll clean up easily.
the second one...
while looking at Poison_Us' website, i remembered a small bottle that i saw at the antique store. it looked very much like a KO-4, though i am not sure it had embossings. i'm interested in buying this one too, if it indeed is a KO-4, and if it's cheap. what would be a good price for one of...
this morning i went to a local antique store looking for bottles. i had already been there this summer, looking for fountain pens. they didn't have any, but i had seen some nice bottles there. so i came back there today to have a closer look at the bottles. there was a 1943 liquor bottle, a 1926...
the vast majority of Corts are inedible, though not dangerous. the problem with them is that they all look alike eachother, and there are some that are dangerous. the purple Cort is one of the easiest to identify, along with the silver-violet Cort (Cortinarius alboviolaceus), which is one of the...
many thanks for the info.
that's what i first thought, but wanted the opinion of someone more knowledgeable about bottles than me. i wasn't able to find any reference about these later Pepsi bottles, only about the early ones.
i meant that i do want to expand my bottle collection in the...
