sweet. thanks for the info. Too bad a lot of the other bottles over there are melted. Im going back to look for more later.

coke bottle question

while metal detecting today I found several bottles of coca cola with Newport News, VA on them as well as a few with Alexanderia VA on them. Are these worth picking up? I dont know if there are collectors out there trying to get some from each state or anything like that. Thanks! Curt

hi, thanks for replying. im not sure what you mean b marks on the finish. There are no labels or embossing on it. On the bottom it has what could be a c or an 0 and possibly a 1, but unfortunately that is in the area that got heated by the fire. There are two mold seams along the sides, and...

new bottle today

found this bottle at an old burned out house site. It green glass, it has bubbles in it, a round base with a little warp from the fire, and a few different mold lines. thought maybe an old wine bottle, but would like your expert opinions pls. This house was in a historic area pre-civil war.

Waiting on a reply from the College of William & Mary PaleoIndian Archaeologist. Apparently Obsidian is found locally here in VA, and VA was called out on a website I was reading as the only East coast state that has it. Not sure if that is true, but we do have it.

So is finding something like this one of those instances where if there is one there should be more? Or are finding these types of things far and few between, kinda like hitting the lotto.

The size of it is intrigueing. It does not appear that it was worn down, rather it seems to be made to that size.

Im at work right now so I can't get you any pics until I get home this afternoon. I dont know what absiden is nor how to id it, so I'll hit google here in a minute and try to get a bit smarter on that. I thought maybe a drill as well, but its tiny. This area of VA had several tribes...

Found this arrowhead / projectile point yesteday on a sandbar while looking for bottles. At first I thought it was a fossilized shark tooth, but when I got home I noticed it was "chipped" into its current shape. Any good links for helping to id this to a certain tribe or what it is called?

that time frame seems about spot on. the site im digging in i've found cups, plates, bowls, saucers, etc that i can date from the King George V era. I am new to bottle collecting but that is by far my favorite embossed bottom design i have found to date. Thanks!!

Found a Pluto Devil bottle today and I cant seem to find this size or design of the devil on Ebay. very similar but the other devils are larger than this one. I'd say the bottle is 10 oz or so. I saw during a search that this was a laxative water bottle? is that correct?
