I just got back to digging again and I posed my self a question. At 3-5ft I usually find the milk bottles, along with screw tops from that era. I like the milk bottles and they are worth their weight in gold around here if you wanted to part with them. But, when I start digging I can't stop...
I found a very rare Pa milk bottle today... great right? The problem is the lettering (the bottle was dug, so its far from mint). Best way to clean it without doing a lot of damage to the letters?
Found this yesterday. I wasn't even going to keep it at first, but the color of the bottle was really nice. I thought at first it was a guy waving. After cleaning it up I noticed it is the old Devil himself on the bottom of the bottle! Under the Devil is the word "PLUTO" a "9" is off the side...
The weather has been nice for digging. I was out yesterday and found some really nice bottles. It's nice to get to that one layer and find some older bottles. If my luck serves me right I should be due for a nice collapse that will bring me back to square one! The Duffy's Whiskey is my favorite...
With the warmer weather around I decided to take a few hours and go on a dig. I found this fruit jar that is in excellent shape. The color is really nice and I was surprised to find the glass lid near it. It's a Whitall's Pat. 1861 with Millville Atmospheric Fruit jar on the opposite side. Just...
I found this bottle from the "COCA-COLA BOTTLING WORKS" does anyone know if it's a coke bottle or just a bottle coca cola bottled? You can see it's the same size as the hobbleskirt and has "York, Pa" on it. The mold seems real sloppy and old.
Thanks
Any ideas on this one? I've fouind so many broken one I figured it was a matter of time!!!! It doesn't have any marking, but it is really nice (in my opinion [;)])
This bottle is 14" high. It looks like a big clorox bottle or something. I found 2 of them (the other is a little smaller and I believe has "WELDON" on the bottom). Any ideas?
I've started digging at an old dump near our town here mainly for milk bottle, but I've come across a lot more that has sparked my intrest. I've found a lot of local bottles with individual's names and towns on them along with a bottle from York Brewery Co. in York, pa. None I've ever heard of...
I'm new to this and was wondering if some experts could help me out. Myself and a friend went digging over the weekend at a old dump outside of town. I came across a "blop top" bottle with C.F. Plitt Bottler on the front and a "P" on the bottom. All the searches come up with beer bottles, but...
