Got out on Saturday to a perfect day of digging an old farmhouse that has small dumps around the property. Older shards seemed to be coming from a muddy area around an old stone lined well and this huge rock so we focused on that:
We found a few decent keepers, mostly 20's and 30's...
Finally got a chance to hit a city dump spot I knew about for some time, all this pulled from only ~3ft of dump layer, not bad for a few hours of scraping! I'm hoping to find a deeper spot but there is so much poison ivy i'd have to go in a hazard suit.
How about that, it has to be the...
I just came across this and I am floored: [:'(]

Calling all New Hampshire diggers: What do we do? This has been a longtime fear of mine that the state will eventually seriously restrict our hobby and make it nearly impossible to keep artifacts...
Here's one I dug recently from the bottom of my favorite 1800's dump along with a nice intact unmarked jug, another NH druggist, and a few other keepers that came out of a new hole I started. I don't have a decent whiskey bottle guide (if this is even is a whiskey) to know who the maker would...
I just can't stop the flow of these just super bottles... I can't describe how I feel right now after digging these things up! I know more is down there, it's just hard work to get that deep but here it pays off!
Dug this afternoon well into the night with our headlamps! We had a great time...
It's been a while since I got out to get a serious dig on and I couldn't resist it today, and what a superb day. Got my diggin buddy badger all riled up and we headed back to the deep town dump where I've gotten some sick finds. Couldn't ask for better weather and the few surviving mosquitos...
Here's the keepers from this weekend, I don't remember getting this many clean meds in a while! All in all I had a great time digging, here's some snaps of the finds, read from left to right:
[Back Row]
2 Dr. True's Elixer: clear one is ABM and the aqua is BIMAL
Marchand's Peroxide of...
Finally got back to my pit this weekend, the first dig I only got about 3 hours in, the second time I spent about 6 hours digging. Some rain clouds threatened to spoil the day but the weather held out and I moved a lot of earth and Foss bottles, I even managed to find a few keepers out of all...
Do most make their own felt pads stuck to the bottoms of their uber glass that I see a lot of, or are they specially bought? Are they to balance them for display or just protection and what sort of glue/tape can you use safely? Just curious, I have a plexiglass bottom on my shelves and it...
Got out again today to continue the deep pit, the weather was perfect and finding this sweet demijohn capped this awesome weekend. This thing cleaned up mint! Found it between two HUGE bars of metal, I think that is what saved it. 3 piece mold, nasty crude applied lip. Most of my finds have...
Here's the day's digs for a superb day of weather! I dug until I couldn't see inside of the hole. Not so bad today, finds started out slow but the pit is shaping up to be a massive producer of some fine glass. I finally hit a sweet vein that is still going, here's some of the stuff that came...
Today was the day... I have been digging this NH dump since I was a teenager, I know there is good stuff but I have never dug anything like this! :) This beauty turned up along with the other bottles posted about here:
Can anyone help confirm Stoddard origins or have similar flasks with these...
Today was GORGEOUS again, we got out to the bigger dump for some diggins (see my post in the "For the Landfill diggers" post for images of the site) and today was by far one of the most EXCITING digs of my life! I have been digging this dump since I was a teenager, I know there is good stuff, I...
Dug a small rural dump clean today, it was mostly on the surface and none of it went very deep. It is in an odd spot too: just at the junction of property lines and pretty far out for someone to haul trash, no real housing nearby. I was probing like a madman and seeking out patches of undug...
