Finally got back to my pit this weekend, the first dig I only got about 3 hours in, the second time I spent about 6 hours digging. Some rain clouds threatened to spoil the day but the weather held out and I moved a lot of earth and Foss bottles, I even managed to find a few keepers out of all the Foss bottles :p I think we should all melt down our foss bottles and make one GIANT foss bottle or something, I may even just start boxing them up, come up with something creative to unload them.

Anyhow here's some pics of the ones I took home & thanks for looking, hope everyone has a great holiday!

Here's the Saturday keepers, from back and left to right:
6oz tooled med (needs a tumble and I give these away for gifts)
Two Bromos and a Phillips
"As you like it" Horse-radish pot jar
A really cool cobalt BIMAL.
Dr. Foster's Eye Remedy, Boston MA

I just rinsed the cobalt bimal bottle so the label is readable, this was all I could salvage from the label but from what I've researched and what I can see it says "Beechwood Creosote", it does have the words "Poison" on the label in the top-left corner. It has "115" embossed on the base. I can't find ANY info on this bottle other than the chemical, any of you poison buffs know if this is a rare one or even considered a poison? Certain forms of the creosote were poisonous, don't know if it classifies the bottle as a poison? I also read it may have been used for Poison ivy and without that part of the label gone after the word "Poison" I can't tell.
I really like the Horseradish jar! I rarely dig any intact pottery, let alone with writing, so this was a really cool find, no sign of the lid though.

Thanks for lookin'

Thanks all, I get so much more motivation to get out there and dig because of your interest!

Has anyone heard of the Beechwood Creosote bottle or dug anything similar? I can't find any info on this one, is it even considered a poison? It does say "Poison" in the top left corner of the label but I don't know if this was used as a poison ivy medicine, or a wood treating oil that was poisonous? Any info you have would be welcomed as always.

Happy Diggins,

Thanks!

Fairly common but this one is interesting, BIMAL and sunken panels. The other brown one is just a Lysol. [;)]
