I am new to the board, and we have come across some bottles. I am looking to find some information on some of these- so any assistance is appreciated.

This bottle is amber color and it is very thick glass. There is a seam, it only runs to the top of the neck of the bottle. The lip of the bottle looks like it was placed on the bottle after it was made.

The bottle is imbossed with:

Front: W.E. Moloney DETROIT, MICH

Back: This bottle not to be sold

Bottom: PAT 85 F B Co.

I have a photo of this bottle if you would like to see it. Please contact me as I can email the photo.

Thanks for the help!

Greetings:
W. E. Moloney ran breweries under several different names from 1877 through 1898.
1877-1879: W. E. Moloney Co. located at 74 12th St., Detroit, Mattias Hauck, proprietor.
1879-1891: Vienna Brewery, located on the N. E. corner of 12th st. and Howard, Detroit, Wm Moloney, prop.
1891-1896: Vienna Brewing
1896-1898: Moloney Brewing Co., Wm. & John Moloney, props.

Your bottle most probably from approx 1879.
