and actually time to post pictures. Been digging here and there but not much time. A plumbing buddy of mine called me yesterday and they were running a new sewer line in a basement of an 1890's building. He said they found a privy. When i got there i crawled through the hole into a 4 foot deep void. It was a monster stone liner more than 6 feet dia. stuck on the walls were pontiled puffs. Unfortuneatly there is about a 4 foot clay cap on top. We dug about 100 bottles ranging from late 1850's to about 1870. I only managed about 1 foot below a portion of the cap and the bottles are every where. more than likely another 20 feet into the basement floor to go.
