My husband and I just bought some property and it has three separate dump sites. Well, at least I've found bottles in three different areas. I am very excited about the new hobby! I've tried researching a lot of what I've found and that's how I found y'all. I know most of my "treasures" are very common and around 50-60 years old. I just wanted to share them with some people who won't think they are just a bunch of old bottles.

I would really like to know what came in the little white bottle with the scalloped trim. Also, any books you can recommend that will help me identify these more common items.

Thank you!

Here is another interesting little white jar. Some others I have found are medicine bottles, Squibb, Lysol, Clorox, Dr. Pepper, Metholatum, Othene, Rexall, Hinds, Heinz, French's...

Hey Jessica, Welcome to the forum. The little milkglass container had some type of beauty aid in it like cold cream. The Squibb bittles come in clear, cobalt, green and amber and in 4 or 5 sizes. Not much value per bottle but IU sold a set of all 4 colors in 4 sizes for 60 bucks to a druggist and they make a great display a great display. If you could post a pic of the Hinds and The Dr pepper it would help to date you dumps a little better. Some times older stuff is underneath.

Thanks! I just got back and was happy to see your response. I just found a little Pond's with a tin lid and a medicine bottle with 666 on the black lid. Everything from this new spot seems pretty new. The Dr. Pepper bottle is one of the 10-2-4 bottle's from around the 50's. The Squibb bottles are both clear and the same size. Almost everything is clear, white, or amber. I've found 3 blue (I believe) Vick's jars. Here is a picture of the Hind's Honey and Almond Cream.

Thanks! The other one, hard to read, is Barton's Dynashine. It's an old shoe polish. Do you know anything about this pic. It says 1939 12 9 8 on the bottom?

I tried to send a picture of the whole collection but it said the file is too big. Is there a way to attach more than one pic at a time? I have found about 100 bottles. Here is another I'm interested in the history. It says Cal-So-Dent.
