Jessica, I just located this web site on Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin posted by the city of Montecillo, Ill. where the syrup was manufactured. Thought you might enjoy this bit of history on this bottle.
www.cityofmonticello.net/cms/publish/pepsinsyrup.shtml

You can also enter Syrup Pepsin in Google.

There is a sample bottle mentioned on the web site. I'll see if I can locate one and post a pic.

Thanks Warren, I know that I have different versions of the Caldwell bottles. I'll try to get some photos of how the bottles went from the BIMAL to the ABM. It may help some of the new collectors in dating some bottles. It's also interesting that Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin survived the scrunity of the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906. A lot of the meds disappear after the crackdown. Also the bottles had to drop the use of the word cure.

I wear a hunting jacket out there, too. It has great pockets! On my last bottle hunt, I filled all of the pockets and still had to leave several behind. When I came back for them, a raccoon had "marked his claim," if you know what I mean. Anyway, the seam does go through both of my Dr. Caldwell's bottles but they are different. One is a little shorter and says "Dr. W B Caldwell Inc." on the side. The other has a greener looking glass and says " Pepsin Syrup Company." I think the shorter one is older. I read about the history of Dr. Caldwell. You might be interested in the site below.

Here is a pic of a Fitch bottle. It's cologne, I think.
Thank you for your response. [:)]

Okay, that is good information to have. I was planning to go the the retirement home in this town and ask the old people about some of these things! Imagine that. [] I will be buying a t-shirt now. [:)]

The Honey and Almond Cream is lotion. I thought it was something for cooking when I first found it. That is the only Hind's bottle I've found.
I am having a hard time figuring out how the forum works. I can't reply to anyone unless it comes to me through my e-mail. I wanted to send Spencer a picture of my collection but it wouldn't let me reply to him. Here is a picture of most of my bottles.

Yep, Thats what Fitch made, cologne and fufu water as my dad calls it. Fufu water is the stinky stuff that barbers put on your hair after a haircut way back when.

I don't know why it wouldn't work earlier, but it seems to be working fine now. Thank you for your help with the pixels. Now I can post the pics, but still only one at a time. Here is another one of my favorites. I have heard that there was a "Rawleigh's man" who would deliver the product. I don't know exactly what it was, but I think medicine. I have two different sizes of this bottle. The smaller one has a P and a 3 on the bottom. What do those marks mean on the bottoms? I know the Heinz bottle had a 57 so I figure it was a bottling location and that's how it got its name, Heinz 57???
