That is a real nice find Bram! You put in the time, and it pays off.

As someone also mentioned... most of these are weakly embossed. Also, this is actually more likely to be a NY state bottle, from the Mount Vernon glass factory. Either way... it is early, colored, embossed, pontilled, and very nice!

How was the rest of the site? Were there signs of other 1840s era glass?

Like you though, I agree that it is almost certainly not a Stoddard bottle but it's still one of my favorites.

I have no idea what that bottle is (kinda' new to the game) but everyone else is excited about it and it is making me excited for you as well... and it is also making me want to get into diving.... but first I must master the shovel
