madman, i don't know for sure but i think coke started with acl's in the 70's. if you wish to part with one of those let me know a price. the ones you see around here are usually pretty beat up or acl.
thanks, john
The 12 ounce can bring around $5 or so. This was advertised as the 'King Size' bottle, but they also used a 10 ounce and called it 'King Size'. It depended on the marketing area. They did begin using ACL in 1955, but not every bottler jumped on the ACL wagon. Many ordered embossed bottles up until 1965. But by then, all returnable had to be ACL. Most of the advertising coming out showed an ACL bottle, so the Coca-Cola Company wanted the bottler to use the bottle style the ads had.
AND the 1 Pint 10 oz (26 oz) question- I know Pepsi 26 oz are valued at $40. But-Coke 26 oz seem to not bring that much. I've paid around $5 for mine, but I have seen them for sale as much as $30. But-I am a cheapskate, I'll pass a bottle up and wait to find it cheaper someplace.
hey digdug GREAT INFO!! man i love this forum, hey bd im gonna hang on to these, they were givin to me by someone special, i hear ya on the cheapskate im not payin big bucks either mike
