At a visit to an old local cemetary, I was checking out the foundation where a church had been burnt down a few years ago. This beautiful place was built in 1828, burned, and rebuilt in 1853. Someone set it ablaze just a few years ago (grrr....the cuss words I could invent for this person....) I spend a great deal of my free time researching local history and that includes touring the local cemetaries for tombstone rubbings and an occasional genealogy look up. I was wandering around the foundation where the church was and decided to poke around near where the front door was. I found some melted chunks of stained glass, which would be from when the place was rebuilt in 1853. I don't know if junk like this has a place on this forum, but as you can see, I've got the junk bug pretty bad. There are still patterns on the glass (lead?) even though it's over 150 years old and was melted in a fire. I think I might make a pretty suncatcher out of all the pieces. I also saw a few tombstones that were broken and thrown down into the woods with other misc memorial stuff - though I'm sure they've been replaced with new ones and that's why they were cast aside, I don't dare haul them out of there. (also, at 5'3 100lbs, i doubt i'd be able)
