Does anyone know how to find the age of the dump if it's newer? For example, what did trash look like in the 60s? I'm guessing alot of beer cans and ndnr bottles and early plastic cups and stuff like that...

The deeper you go the better the stuff....move to your right and then back to the left. Using a probe helps too Dig Dig Dig....Usually those dumps pitter out quick....dig an outhouse......It'll change your thinking on dump digging....no offense diggers.

A lot of bottles made from the 1940's on have date codes on the bottom, especially soda bottles.. "no deposit, no return" appeared in the '60's, I think.. a beer can that isn't completely rusted out might be dateable to within a few years..

I mean if 1960s era stuff interests you, dig it. But don't expect too much.
