I have searched for info about what this bottle might be - it's era - any information on it - it's intended uses etc....couldn't find anything. Can anyone shed some light on this? - any info would be appreciated.
Welcome to the forums. This one is too generic to give any definitive information. Because of it's size it's probably a medicine of some sort and it's age could be pinned down if we could determine how it was made which would require additional close-ups of the top and bottom. A nice clear close-up of the side seam and top would help a lot. Jim
Whatever was in it was liquid, and pretty thin at that, because of that narrow opening. As said before, the small dimensions indicate some sort of medicine. Any cosmetic or food product would be larger. Perfume is likely ruled out due to it's plain, homely appearance. Beyond that we will never know the exact contents. A picture or pictures that show how it was made will tell more about when it was made. Jim
Serum bottle - that's interesting.... I know serum = blood....but how were these used back in the day? Some sort of personal use ?....farm animal use? I found his on our property which was homesteaded in the early 1900's - prior to our ownership, only one previous owner - who homesteaded, raised sheep and had a still, he lived here and died in the 50's. I have taken a few more better photos of the lip and bottom - but I have not seen how to attach more photos to this thread....if those would help - I may have to submit them in a new post...
Perhaps a vaccine bottle. They had a rubber stopper that was sometimes held by a metal band at the top. The neck had only to be large enough to insert a syringe needle. Vaccinating the sheep? Just a thought. Buster
