..it sat like this on a shelf, with the neck hanging over the edge. They would cut a bunch of grapes with a length of stem, and stick the stem down the neck, and it would be kept full of sugar-water through the hole in the top.. this would keep the grapes going for quite a while after harvest.

Impressive. Most impressive. Makes me glad I collect poison bottles. I have about 100 bottles (including a selection of inks) and they all fit on 1 shelf of the china hutch. I couldnt imagine collecting sodas, beers and whiskeys (or the like) in this small appt.

Simply incredible, my collection is about 1/40th of that. Thanks so much for posting. I think Ill start a new forum where everyone can post their entire collection. Would be cool to see just what everyone else has.
