Thanks for clearing that up for me.
I guess it would be easy to determine if it's not a tantalis then. The turn latch would have to have a hole for a tiny padlock. If it doesn't it wouldn't be very effective.

Definitely a Tantalus which looks home made with the rivets holding the metal together. The shiny piece with the latch appears to be chrome plated brass but the main body section looks like a tin (light steel) frame that has had a thin layer of copper added to take a chrome surface which has now been worn down to the tin and now has rusted.
The middle name was probably Brandy
