I found this ad a couple weeks ago when searching thru some old Newspapers from Timmins Ontario . it was posted in 1938 by a local bottler called " the gold belt Brewery "
the contest promotes Orange crush caps but mentions caps from other brands such as pepsi , 7 up , nu grape also accepted as they were bottled by this bottler . so it appears to be more of a local contest rather a national one . thinking it was more local and not necessary something orange crush did in other areas ? although not really sure as soda contests were popular back then
the prizes mostly relate to winter sports - 1st boys/girls skis , 2 nd boys/girls skates , 3rd boy/girl sleigh , 4th tricycle or doll carriage . bonus hockey sticks
it was kind of hard to copy due to size but tried to enlarge certain areas so its easier to view as its a good one .
the bottler was also running more basic ads for pepsi and orange crush , one features an embossed bottle , timmins is known for its gold mines , this old newspaper has also turned out to be a goldmine of vintage soda info
