Hi all ~ Here are four little bottles (the tallest is
just under 4 1/2" high). Does anyone know what
they might have been used for & any ideas on value?

#1(far left) has a rough pontil. #2 also has a rough pontil
and I'm guessing a "cracked-off" finish on lip? #3 has
an embossed 3 on bottom. #4 has a broken pontil, a green
frosted appearance and a chip on it's very thin lip.

Any information is greatly appreciated![:)]

I hope I'm wrong but that looks like a NE type with a busted off lip. I don't think that's factory, just damage. Can you get a close up?

Cow's right, the amber one is a Stoddard medicine and would have had some good value without the lip damage. I've attached a picture from Lane and Pappas' book that shows a similar example with a complete lip. The other three are common types (well, the 2 end ones anyway) and don't have a lot of value. If you list it as a lot you may be able to get $25?

Hey Newbie...

The amber bottle could be Stoddard, but I'd have to see a real good photo of the base.
Sean put up a good photo of the Stoddard book and it could be that bottle he pointed out... but you have to see it, feel it and check the pontil and base...

Are you gonna make it up to the bottle show on Sunday?? Hope to see you there. Bring some of your bottles cause there is a lot of "parking lot negotiations" that take place at these shows and you can always get some good advice from the other diggers and collectors.

Hey Ron...

Cause you can afford the table... you have lots of bottles to sell (show off) and Downeastdigger needs to pay for his new facility...[8|] He can't make all the payments by selling his bottles, although he sure sold enough for the downpayment.[&:]

When are you guys coming up? Any idea? PM me and I'll give you my numbers if you want.

Hi! Not to be a pest, but do the pictures make
it any easier to see if the brown bottle is "cracked
off" or just a broken lip?

The photos of the bottle show this weekend were
fantastic. I love old things and those bottles were
gorgeous!

Thanks for your help! [:)]
