5th Privy and Counting

Me and Leon went digging Sunday to our Detroit hot spot,. We finished the 5th privy that we started last week, found 2 crown tops, (west side & a small independent brew co.) and a real cool Detroit old milk, Winters Homestead Farm Detroit Mich.and plus 3 or 4 slicks Leon started digging a new spot (he thought) but he was really tunneling into the pit he dug a couple of years ago. After we filled in that hole,, we tried a spot I thought I felt a good with crunch under gravel / bricks but when we did a test hole we could not break thru the hard stuff/gravel. I guess we can't hit a boat load of cobalt hutches every weekend !!! Tom

Then we went down the block and tried to find some new spots. found 2 chunchy spots, but both have lots of trees growing in them and near them, very hard to dig. not sure what to do with these spots. plus a third smaller spot. may have to open holes up and come in from the side using my battery hack saw to take out the larger roots. both the holes had 1890's shards in them when doing test holes. The one I was probing I was feeling solid bottles about 2 to 3 feet deep. I hate tree roots !!! Tom

Pretty cool. But without tree roots, a lot of places wouldn't exist as the land wouldn't quite be solid.

I think I found a big good privy along the Fence line. About 3 & 4 feet down I kept feeling bottles on the end of my probe about 5-6 different times, Dug a small narrow test hole about 3 feet down & strarted pulling out shards of glass & bottom half of another Aqua Frank Marx Brewing bottle. A good sign but I was hoping for something older. Was getting late & tired so saving these for a return trip. Now everyday I keep wondering what I left back in that hole. The Suspense is killing me LEON.
