Hey Kevin, Nice finds. Where is the ss Coke from. Cool coffin bottle but I don't know my poisons well enough to say what it is.

The coffin shaped bottle I do believe is actually a perfume bottle. I dug one without the crackle design and that is what I was told mine was. Needless to say I was a bit disappointed. Swizzle

Hey nice story and pics. Years from now you'll probably be able to check downed trees to see what pops up. What's the rock in the first pic and rectangle in the clean finds pic. Herb Juice, I bet THAT was yummy!

GACDIG is this the dump off of Blackmon Road? I have been down there too if this is the place you are talking about.

Nice digs, Glenn. We have a big dump here from about the same era. You never know what will turn up in these big 20s-30s dumps. We have found some $200+ milk bottles, a few nice poisons and lots of good local sodas. My buddy even found an open-pontiled cobalt barber bottle. That was awesome!

I would agree that your coffin bottle is a perfume or something similar. Although it is not a poison, it would be a cool display piece to sit with your poisons. I have a little porcelain skull that I dug sitting with some of my poisons. Adds a little more creepiness [;)]. A coffin would do the same. ~Jim

Hi Cobaltbot, the rectangle thing was a neat piece of tile with pretty colors. The rock was a pair of praying or shaking hand. Maybe from a cematary stone. Here is a better pic.

Jim, I do enjoy digging this 20's dump, so many bottles and like you said some can carry a nice price. $$$ [:D] I have a poison collection with odd and ends like the coffin and skulls in it too. I will take a pic at some time to show.

I would say that is definitely a piece of an old marble headstone. The clasped hand motif is very common on mid to late 19th century headstones. I wonder how it got there? Were there other pieces of headstones?

Now thats odd! A piece of a headstone. I agree with Exquisiteoaf, that is most likely late 1800s. Hopefully you didnt hit a cemetary!
