I haven't found much to write about so far this year but I was bored and figured why not show what todays dive had. I was concerned about going far from home as another storm was approaching southern maine so I went to one of my local coastal rivers. I was late by about 30 minutes for high tide and knew I would be diving against the outgoing tide, but I could use the workout. This river every now and then can offer up some cool relics, flounder, pipes, marbles, and oysters. I found a pretty interesting Old Spice mug(maybe for shaving?), a pontilled litte blue piece of glass, a ceramic beer?, Geo Boynton Portsmouth NH soda, Green Mountain Ginger Ale Manchester NH, and a dz oysters. I popped up with 500 psi left the snow was falling now and a curious Hooded Merganser (normally shy) was floating close by me as I let the strong current take me down river to my exit point.

In the spirit of winter I figured I would post this photo of a puffed up Snowy Owl atop a flagpole near the ocean about a week ago. What a beautiful bird! Thanks for looking.

Dad still has one of those Old Spice mugs. I use to sit on the bathroom sink and watch him shave! Nice finds. And I'm sure you have been asked before, do you ever find any pearls? Mitch

Thanks for the responses. Epackage I have never grilled them but it sounds easier than shucking. Goodman I have found pearls in Mussels but never in an Oyster yet. Rpimkam I have not had them yet its on the menu for Monday, but they always taste great from this river(fast flowing, clean clear and COLD!).

but they always taste great from this river(fast flowing, clean clear and COLD!). We have good access to Chesapeakes around here and they are nice and full right now but nothing compares to what you get up there!
