some river finds today, went out early this am with the kayak b/4 work.a broken 1 pint 10 oz united mineral water company . will recycle it. A nice L H Meyer company blob from Providence RI should clean up nice. Two dairy bottle small, one Valley farms, and one Remington All Star embossed bottles.now the story As I was pulling out the blob about 20 feet away from me I seen a bunch of geese swimming pretty quick by me. I then noticed one , about 10 feet behind struggling swimming with only one wing coming out of the water( it was a pretty big goose guessing 15 lbs). I thought it must be snagged on some fishing line or debris. I paddled over to it and was surprised to see a huge snapping turtles white bottom side and 4 legs facing up and he was clamped onto the goose . I intervened with mother nature and hit the turtle with my paddle , he released . the goose took off towards shore. After a minute he got back in the water swam towards me, the took off swimming fast to catch up with his crew. All the years on lakes and rivers first time I have seen something like that, my only regret is I did not think of taking out my cell and snapping (pun intended) a few pics b/4 helping him...any way here are the pics

So you're a hero! Awesome! *High-paws you*
On the 19th is the annual Muskegon River Clean-up. I hope to make a find like yours (only expect to bring out cans, bottles, bags... though.) Great finds!

Me & my Neighbor used to keep pet turtles in a backyard pond when we were kids back in the 70's. We soon found out that at night Racoons, Possums, Ect, would like to come snatch them at night for food. LEON.
