Today Tom and I met up with our young friend Max, who has taken an interest in local history, metal detecting and bottles...We all had breakfast at Joe the Baker's, went to check a spot where Tom's having a machine open us up a few test holes tomorrow towards a dig, that if it materializes will be a pretty great one. Then decided to take Max up to the old dump where Tom and I had been finding a few undug pockets.... The day after we were there last time, 20 plus inches of snow fell. The recent thaw eleminated most all of it, and the woods were bare when we began today...Here's Tom and Max checking out an old oil field boiler from the first or second generation of oil recovery here.

We'll have to try the other pics later...meanwhile,...Here's a Bromo variation that I've not seen before...Max dug this little guy right away, and if I'm remembering the embossing right, it said "Celery Bromo fo-mo"[:D].... Pretty cool amber Bromo knock off...

Tom had a meeting to attend, So Max and I stayed and dug for awhile....Some interesting and not so interesting things came to light... Not sure what this neck belonged to but it would have been nice...

Having a tough time with the resize from this second hand camera I got to replace the one that fell in the creek! anyhow we had found a lot of the usual suspects, plain janes etc...We found one slick with the contents and what a smell! [8|] It permeated our dig area the rest of the time we were there....Just before we headed out, Max dug a Jno.Wyeth strap side med, with some type of white powder still inside... It was pretty big and undamaged

...Not bad for just starting out...By then the snow was falling pretty good, and we had to head out...

Anyhow, had lots more pics, but they seem to be way too tiny when shrunk to the 200 required here, so they'll have to wait till i figure out a good resizer....anyone reccomend anything other than paint? I've pretty much been using that since I started on this forum in 2005...The simpler the better! Thank you and apologies for this abbreviated post..[:)]

I use photobucket Joe..no need to re size, just don't delete anything posted, if you do then the pic is gone from the post.
Some people up here are digging in the winter but I've hung up my claw for the winter..happy diggin'...
