We snorkeled a river in a very old town here in Southeastern Wisconsin today. We had been here before (downstream) and found several embossed crown sodas, and some embossed milks too. I usually dive lakes, but with the heavy flooding we experienced earlier in the year, many riverbeds were washed clean by the swift currents. This means new bottles sometimes turn up, and by new I mean stuff like this! It is an 1870's blob soda, and the earliest sodawater bottle from this town. Listed as Very Rare! Just a great find, especially after finding crown tops for the past two visits. Here is a shot!

Awsome Soda, I found a amber Lighting jar almost completely uncovered on the banks of the Wabash river after our floods.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. We do find alot of nice bottles in the water. Between diving and my new found passion of snorkeling rivers It has produced some great results. It never gets old when you see a blob sticking out of the bottom of the river and the whole bottle then is unearthed for the first time in 125 years. We are going back Tuesday so anything can happen!
