There was an online estate auction a few days ago in a neighborhood that is trying hard not to give up the ghost to street drugs and all the destruction that comes along with that. I'm guessing the former owner cleaned houses for the city's better heeled society, the accumulation of life's treasures was just very eclectic. I bought two lots one being a bathroom and walk in closet. The closet had nothing I could use and the bathroom looked like it could qualify as a superfund site. But during preview I noticed a small bottle/vase sitting buried under a thousand years of gosh knows what dirt and dust. I was in a hurry and didn't have a lot of time to poke as there were still four more rooms to see in ten minutes. Long story short, I picked up the bottle saw a old paper label but couldn't figure out what it said. As I said I won the lot today, stopped by and grabed the bottle and told another bidder Merry Christmas and they could have the rest.

Did a quick web search on the name and I'm thinking I'll be doing business in pretty high cotton when I sell it.

Gold leaf. Microcosmic saturation. Don't sell the bastard child for this one. Italian artistry, for sure. 1930s. Beats the Mexican imitation by far. Madonna bottles, not forgiving, if you paid more than $40.00 devalued U.S. dollars for this one you are the chump.

It's early Art Glass and when I saw the age of the paper label I knew it was good. If the label was missing it would still be a nice piece but not great as there would be no provenance. Lots of Art Glass was created but few pieces actually signed beyond paper labels. Then the Italian craftsman techniques have changed so little through the years it becomes nearly impossible to correctly date their ware. I am much better with stateside glass than Contential glass or pieces from outside our borders. I'll include a couple of links that will offer you better knowledge including the company's home page. I should mention it's mint.
