ORIGINAL: RIBottleguy

I wonder what he would do if one of his "priceless" pieces went for $9.99.   [:D]

Double his money! [:D]

Not to play devils advocate here but some of his items are legit. The Persian saddle flasks as they are sometimes called are modern interpertaions of ancient Persian and Roman flasks and are forgerys. But a closer inspection of the following items tells a different story.

Take this one for instance. This is the oldest piece he has for auction. PRICELESS 17TH-18TH CENTURY EARLY AMERICAN GLASS VASE

http://cgi.ebay.com/PRICELESS-17TH-18TH-CENTURY-EARLY-AMERICAN-GLASS-VASE-/150629603910?pt=Folk_Art&hash=item2312395a46

Description This stunning bottle green glass vase is an Early American piece and dates to circa 1600 - 1750. It could be Wistar glass or some other prominent American glass maker, but I am not certain which. This is a once in a lifetime chance to purchase a vase of this age and beauty. It measures 5 3/4" high in beautiful condition! I have gone over it with a loop and do not see any significant cracks or chips. This is worthy of any auction in the world.

How about he is off by 12 to 14 CENTURIES !! [&:][&:][&:]It is certainly not American made Wistar[:D][:D] it is more like a very legitimate 3rd to 5th century Roman vase as these items were mostly very small in nature usually 3 to 5 inches in heigth. The spread out threading on the glass is a Roman tell tale signature. Here is your chance to own a very old piece of glass.

Or this one......................off by a couple of centuries [:D]

Again a legitmate late 18th century Dutch case bottle nice color good shape ,makers mark or pine tree as he states

Or this one....................off by two centuries[:D][:D]

Early to mid 18th century 1740 to 1770 Dutch in make nice bottle.

Then there is this one

http://cgi.ebay.com/PRICELESS-ANCIENT-GLASS-EWER-CENTURIES-OLD-STUNNING-/160617410902?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item25658b3156

Not ancient but it is quite old at 1680 to 1750 Italian or French Wine server. The Ewers of Roman times had short stubby spouts just like our modern pitchers.
This piece of glass was clearly designed with its long pouring spout to pour items slowly and accuratley.Expensive wines or other liquors would have used this type of bottle.

Lastly this one is old late 1600s.This is his best descriptive work to date. His guess on make and time are pretty accurate.

So in closing he is a little close in his descriptions isnt he?[:D][8D]

He should have consulted with at least a few glass historians before making claims. He is a colorful seller for sure.
