You hear about it, read about it and you think that will never
happen to me. Well guess what, it happened to me today.
Tears are running down my cheeks as I type this message.
There is only one equation that sums up my total distress
at this moment. That is a Rough and Ready/Corn for the
World flask and a free blow jar + CAT = total and complete
destruction!!!!! All I can say is I'm gutted bad. I hoping I
wake up soon and this was only a bad dream.

[:(]Well Potstone,....It's hard to lose a real nice bottle, by god it is,....I try to remain philisophical when these things happen, but the rarer pieces,...they can be replaced eventually....Try to remember that and I'm betting that maybe something better will come your way. [;)] Joe

Subtle brains and lissom fingers will have saved those pieces... I am a life-long supporter of careful salvaging of old structures, no diesel until the viking lady sings!! ..or are you talking about an actual cat?

I better your poor kitty feels really bad about it too! "It was just an accident, Dad!" I'm sorry about your bottle. You are not alone. I had to put away my whole collection because of my cat.

I've been lucky enough to avoid cat breakage of bottles so far, but they've done plenty of other bad things and I still love them, even when they're bad. It makes you remember what's important.

It reminds me of the Tibetan Sand Mandalas that the Monks make, then destroy - to remind us that nothing is permanent.

If you've never seen that before, here's a quick video

And if anyone is interested, here's a longer one.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. I have two mischievous cats and a sometimes-hyperactive dog myself. All of my bottles are either behind sturdy glass in display cabinets or up so high that the three Tasmanian devils could not possibly reach them with spring-loaded paws and a pound of catnip.

I would love to have some of my better bottles out in the open at eye level, especially the nice colors. Nightmares about the very horror that you just described stop me every time I think about it. ~Jim
